North Queensferry offers a range of  local amenities to visitors, and the Trust manages several local attractions: The Railway Station Art gallery, the Light Tower, the Pierhead Museum, an Information Point and Book Share in the old Telephone Box on the Main Street, and the ancient Chapel of St James

You can explore these on these walks around the village Where you will also find the the War Memorial and the Church

You can also indulge in walks further afield with stunning views along the north shore of the River Forth.

Local amenities include transport, food drink, accommodation, groceries, post office, cash withdrawals, an attractive beach, and other tourist attractions.


The Forth Bridge Heritage Centre at the Railway Station

Heritage Trust Meeting Room
The Trust was involved in a Heritage Lottery Funded project to renovate the 19th-Century Railway Station which had been standing derelict for many years. The Gallery has a collection of Forth Bridge artifacts and spectacular images of the Forth Bridge.  The Gallery also has a book share section alongside a children’s area for drawing. The FBHC includes a meeting room for hire for exhibitions and other functions.  Our multi-talented Artist in Residence has a studio in the building where he produces artwork in stone, wood, and metal.

The Light Tower


Visit the Light Tower designed by Robert Stevenson, 1817.

Here is one of the world’s smallest cars in front of the “World’s smallest working Light Tower”


Pierhead Museum

Next to the Light Tower is the Pierhead Museum which explains the operation of the Queensferry Passage and the ferries that crossed the Queensferry Passage for almost 1000 years.


Telephone Box

Just along the Main Street from the War Memorial is a “K6” Phone Box which is now an Information Booth and Book Swap stall.


Chapel of St James


Round the corner from the Pierhead museum, lies the ancient St James Chapel accessed from Chapel Place Lane.

The War Memorial

One of the central points in the village is the War Memorial which commemorates the fallen in two World Wars.
Our website carries the stories of every individual named on the plaque, as well as some who were missed from the original records.


The Village Church


The village Church has a busy social calendar (in normal times!)
Online weekly services have been supplemented by daily devotions.


Behind the present church building, you will find the Ypres Bell which commemorates the fallen in WWI.


Walks further afield

The start of the Fife Coastal Path provides an easy walk around the peninsula.For the serious walker, try a long-distance walk along the Fife Coastal Path or on the Pilgrim’s Way to St Andrew’s.
