The Coastguard Battery, Forth Bridge and Port Edgar at South Queenferry
The battery was tucked into a compact site adjacent to the pre-existing Coastguard Station on Castle Hill in North Queensferry.
There were earlier batteries in this area. The “Fort” and the “Great Sconce” from the time of James VI were probably built on the sites of the later Ness and Hill batteries.
