To celebrate the 130th Anniversary of the iconic Forth Bridge – a UNESCO World Heritage Site – this exhibition shows a number of unique and seldom-seen photographs, with details, by renown railway photographer John Clemmens.

The exhibition will open daily from 6th January 2020 in the Gallery at the North Queensferry Station, Platform 1.

Entrance is free, but donations appreciated!
Our resident bird expert – John Done – leads seasonal nature walks around the village, along the coastal Path, and through the CarlingNose Nature Trail.
Saturday 2nd May 2020
For visitors to the village, this walk will commence at the Railway Station at 10 a.m. (there are Toilets and Parking spaces at the Station).
John will lead participants done the Brae to the War Memorial to pick up local participants (sparing them the ascent of the Brae!).
The walk will continue from the War Memorial at 10.15 am.

Each month, we try to have a talk from a local expert on some subject related to village life.
The Village Show – runs at the end of August in the Community Centre
Beachwatch is a nation-wide beach litter clean-up and survey, which has been organised by the Marine Conservation Society (MCS) every year since 1993. Beaches around the UK coast are surveyed by volunteers for the quantities and types of litter that are collected on and above the strandline.
The MCS Beachwatch is held on the third weekend in September every year, representing the UK in the International Coastal Cleanup, involving over 100 countries and thousands of volunteers worldwide over the same weekend.
We understand that the survey completed at Port Laing, North Queensferry, is one of only four beaches in the UK to have taken part every year since the inception of the Beachwatch event.
Beach litter pick-ups are also organised at other times of the year.

Boyd will talk about the Submarine Miners who operated from Port Laing and “the Guv’y Pier” until 1906, when they were disbanded.
Duncan will take over at that point and talk about their reincarnation in 1906 as the City of Edinburgh (Fortress) Royal Engineers.
