In February 1900, the Club accepted a proposal to extend the club house.
The plan provided for (1) the erection of a new dining room on the west side of the club-house, to be entered from the present smoke-room and from the front; (2) the conversion of the present smoke-room into a bar and smoke-room. The estimated cost was £400.
The original floor plan – ground floor and upper floor.
The new ground floor layout, with the smoking room divided, and a new dining room added to the side.

The final cost for the additions to the Clubhouse was £254 8s 4d with house furnishings and stock costing a further £108 5s 8d.
It was decided to increase the maximum membership from 400 to 450, to increase income sufficiently to cover normal annual running expenses.
The increased membership was starting to cause congestion on busy holidays, so a new by-law was introduced in 1903, to only allow one visitor per member, with no visitors allowed the Spring and autumn Holidays and Victoria Day.
By 1904, membership was 424 – 368 gents, 54 ladies and 2 boys, and membership remained stable over the next few years, 421 – 363 gents and 58 ladies in 1907.
Things were all very quiet, as can be seen by a report from the Courier on Jun 12th 1907, that a player had accidentally killed a starling with his ball!
But 1909 brought news of a potentially troubling change of land ownership.
