Arrival of Barrage Balloons

Barrage balloons were important in reducing the effectiveness of air attacks on civilian and military targets, particularly from dive-bombers, and there was a definite lack of them over the military installations along the Forth. Their absence had been a significant lapse and, following the raid, improvements to the balloon barrage around the shores of Britain were made, in particular a complete barrage was taken down in Glasgow and was flying again 24 hours later over the Firth of Forth.

And a few days later Bob Cubin arrived in North Queensferry as part of the wider Forth barrage which included several Barrage Balloon sites round North Queensferry.
