In 1890, the club took out a five year lease from Adam Will, on a stretch of land on the Ferryhills, close to North Queensferry Railway Station, and created a new 9-hole course.
Here is the full report from the Dunfermline Press Saturday June 21st 1890.
[The annotations on the original image are very faint, so have been highlighted in this copy. You can see trains on the Forth Bridge and on the line from Inverkeithing.]
Here is the layout of the course on a contemporary OS map
You can see the layout of the 9-hole course and all the later layouts on the Golf Course Maps page.
The clubhouse – next to the road at the 7th hole – was the wooden hut which had served as a clubhouse at Halbeath.
The new course was conveniently close to the railway station, and quickly attracted new members to the Club.
The wooden hut was soon inadequate for the needs of a growing membership, so the Club purchased a New Clubhouse in 1891.
