On the afternoon of Wednesday 20th November 1918, ships of the Grand Fleet: HMS Canada, HMS Orion, HMS King George V, HMS Royal Sovereign, HMS Thunderer, HMS Resolution and HMS Erin prepare to put to sea ready to meet the High Seas Fleet the following morning.

Admiral Beatty issued the following detailed set of sailing orders to the Grand Fleet for Operation ZZ


The surrender event was publicised in contemporary posters and a programme of events.
