Read the schedule carefully. It is important to exhibit what is asked for i.e. the correct number of specimens (take a few extra in case of accidents).
Uniformity is important especially in fruit and vegetables classes.
All exhibits should be presented as attractively as possible, that is, damaged flowers and leaves removed; jam labels straight and jars sparkling.

Vegetable hints
Vegetables should have tidy tops of 1 or 2 inches (12.5 or 15cms) – can use string or rubber band.
Beetroot should be about the size of tennis balls.
Peas, beans, tomatoes and courgettes should have some stalk left on.
Runner beans should be straight.
Courgettes should be 5/6-inches (13 cms) long.
Marrow should be of good quality which is not necessarily the biggest.
Ensure your Poppy Brooch has a brooch or safety pin.
