The story of St James’s Chapel starts with its Origins in the 1300’s based on the “Notes on the Chapel of St James” by E Patricia Dennison.

By the 18th century the chapel had become a graveyard managed by the The Sailors’ Society as described in “Passage of Time” by Peter and Carol Dean, plus copies of some pages from the books of the Sailors’ Society

In the 20th century, Bob Cubin’s Notes captured the location of, and the inscriptions on, the existing gravestones.

This has now been supplemented with a Photographic Record of the existing gravestones.
